St Basil’s Church in the Covrești (Horezu), built in 1826 by the boyars Ion Stanciu Covrea and Ion Dincă Bălănescu, is presented through its history, the fresco and tempera paintings by the artist Ilie ot Teiuș — including rare scenes such as the Bear Dance and a hora with folk musicians — and its collection of icons, inscriptions and religious artefacts.
